The Heirs

I was flipping thru some channels and came across Jeepney TV where “The Heirs” was airing. I watched the episode and fell in love with the series all over again.

I actually watched this Koreanovela back in 2013 when it first came out. I had to watch it online and remember waiting every Wednesday and Friday for each new episodes. I was immediately hooked.

I loved it first of all because Lee Min Ho is there and I could definitely say that he is at the top of my list for being one of the most handsome Korean actors with the talent to boot. I like the way he portrays each character he plays, he makes it so realistic and his face.. oh this guy’s face could melt your heart in an instant.

The story is actually pretty simple, it’s a light drama with a few comedy now and then. I like that the story line is not that heavy and most of the time the good guys almost always wins in every episode. Except for the latter part of the series where the twists and obstacles started which of course is necessary to make the whole story interesting.

Lee Min Ho who plays  Kim Tan, the main male protagonist in the story who has to battle being the 2nd son (illegitimate being he is the son of his father’s mistress but was registered to be the son of the 2nd wife in order for him to be a legal heir) and heir to one of the largest mogul in South Korea. Cha Eun-sang (or Julie in the Tagalized version) is portrayed by Park Shin Hye (I knew her all the way back to You’re Beautiful and Heartstrings) and she is the heroine in the history battling poverty, trying to fit in, bullies and being the apple of the eye of two boys all wanting to be a part of her life.

I like the chemistry between Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye, it’s not over the top and just enough to stimulate your heart’s senses. Both of them literally gave me the giggles every time they have a scene together. I especially love their kissing scenes! First time I saw it I was jumping up and down in my seat and I remember taking a screen shot of it, that’s how nice it was. Have a look at one of my favorite scenes below. I also loved all the songs, I still have copies of the songs and listen to it every now and then even if it’s in korean but all the melodies for every song are catchy and perfect for each scene.

All in all it’s a feel good tv series which left me hanging on to each and every episode back then. Seeing it now gives me that nostalgic feeling, made me want to watch the koreanovela all over again.

Koreanovela addicted

Recently and in the past few weeks I’ve been gluing myself on my laptop and watching endless Koreanovelas..

And so far I’ve been romanticized by each and every single story.. each one different from one another by their story lines, plots and the people who are in them (well, especially the people! hehe)

I have especially taken a liking to three..

Secret Garden – Hyun Bin

He’s Beautiful – Jang Geun Suk

Boys over Flower – Lee Min Ho

I’ve mentioned male leads because I think they are just as dreamy as they can be.. equivalent to ice cream on a hot summer day.. whew!
